CLAUSE 14: STEVEDORING 1. In this Clause the terms:

General Cargo (i) Discharging or loading 5.00 (ii) Discharging or loading transhipment cargo 5.00 (iii) Shut-out cargo from lighters 5.00 (iv) Cargo loaded to a ship but not accepted for carriage and discharged from the ship to shore 9.00 (v) Cargo landed and reshipped 9.00 (vi) Shifting within the same hold 5.00 (vii) Shifting from hold to hold 9.00 (viii) Shifting on deck without landing 5.00 B. Palletized or Unitised Cargo 1. Palletized or unitized cargo shall exclude containerized cargo. Note 2: When cargo has been landed to be trans-shipped and is left on the port premises for more than 24 hours a charge of US $ 0.4 per ton or part thereof per 24 hours or part thereof shall become payable. Note 4: If the cargo has to be landed ex-lighter, charges as appropriate
Rates per Harbour Tonne US$ C. Bulk and Bagged Cargo:
and/or from the port area must be so arranged in a manner that ensures a minimum performance of 1,000 tons for 24 hours 4.00

Valuable Cargo Valuable cargo enumerated below shall be subject to stevedoring charges as follows:- 4.00 In this clause valuable cargo shall mean:- -Bullion -Essential Oil -Hair -Hippo Teeth -Ivory -Papain -Precious Stones -Pyrethrum -Rhinoceros Horn -Silverware and Silverplate -Specie, Currency Notes -Postal Stamps, Tortoise Shells and Cargo n.o.e. carried on an ad-valorem bill of lading F. Other Cargo

Incidental Services included in Stevedoring Rates
(i) Supply of craft for transporting labour to or from ship. (ii) Use of cranes when available, except floating cranes (iii) Labour for Lighters (iv) Winchmen (v) Hatchwaymen (vi) Use of gear other than special equipment Services not included:
(i) Opening and closing of hatches (ii) Handling of dunnage or separation materials (iii) Use of floating cranes (iv) Trimming of Cargo (v) Any other incidental services not included under item 4 above.
Operations Causing Poor Stevedoring Performance
(i) Hire of labour rates as set out in Clause 11 (ii) Hire of labour rates and/or equipment provided and/or material used. Heavy Lifts:
(a) 5 deadweight tonnes but under 10 deadweight tonnes 10.00 (b) 10 deadweight tonnes but under 20 deadweight tonnes 15.00 (c) 20 deadweight tonnes but under 40 deadweight tonnes 25.00 (d) 40 deadweight tonnes and over 36.00 IMPORT AND EXPORT OF LIVESTOCK Stevedoring: Rate per Animal US $ B. (1) Camels, horses, cattle, mules, donkeys 6.00 and other large animals each (2) Sheep, pigs, and other small animals each 2.00 (3) Cattle walked on Board: Large, each 2.00 Small, each 1.00 (4) Game animals in crates or boxes per 1 cubic meter or part thereof 3.00
